A Walk To Remember

I stayed up yesterday to watch his memorial last night. To be honest, i didn’t know how much micheal Jackson impacted the world until I watched this. This is the most beautiful memorial i have ever seen. I cried ..

This man has become a legend that has made a changed and impact in each of our lives. Whether we realized it or not. Deep down, I really pity him for having to go through the hurt and pains, even though he has tried very hard to give and please everyone. Come on…this man has been in the spot light throughout his living years. Yes…he may be famous, and his dream of becoming the great pop star did come true.

We really have to applaud him for his talent and what he has done.

his songs speak it al.l throughout his careers, he sang songs that are about unity. His beautiful songs…we are the world, heal the work, black or white, can you feel it and many more

I believe God has place him on earth for this purpose and he has succeeded it. He has successful breaking barriers and united people through this songs.

I’m thankful that I live in this era and grew up with his songs. Yes…micheal Jackson has somewhat impacted my perspective of live. Now, I learn to see people equally despite the religions and all.

Wars started because of different religions and races. Bloods are shed, family are parted. I believe in a saying “Its not about the Religion, Is about the people”. Learn to respect other religion and the color differences. We are only different on the outside, with X-rays..we all look the same. J

Kudos to Micheal Jackson!

{June 29, 2009}   turning 27!

Oh My…its been ages since the last post. hehehehehe…but today i decided to pen down a few things in my online journal.

i just turned 27! and i’m really happy on what i have achieve so far.. =)

normally i dun celebrate my birthday, had a party or whatsover.  i think as you grow older…you don’t “celebrate”

my friends actually took the initiative of creating a facebook event on a surprise birthday gathering on the eve of 19th June. it was fun…laughters, beers, and salsa and more salsa.

on my birthday, i was actually travelling to Dungun, Terengganu for my AOWL Course, and i got to seat in a Porche Cayanne..what a beauty! indeed it was a “historical” making event, maybe a once in a lifetime thingy. (dunno when will i ever get to sit that car again) – ok, i may sound like a dungu..but who cares!

so, as i have reached 27… i have

1) climb the mountain (which i will do it again next year)

2) Bought a condo

3) paid off my car loan (THANK GOD!)

4) Lots of travelling and vacation this year

5) Took my diving course and now an advance diver!

6) Salsa! 2 more months to graduate!

7) and i have checked myself into a hotel in KL and have my own “me time”

life’s Good. it always been good if you think on the positive way!

{January 27, 2009}   year 2009

Chinese New Year is here again!

Time really flies like nobody business!

I love CNY…this is the season where we get to eat, gamble, drink, and to catch up with family and friends!

I remember that CNY was much grander than before…

2009 is may be a good year for some people, and for some..2009 is a hardship year because of the economy slowdown.

i personally believes that.. if we believe that 2009 is a good year..it will be a good year indeed.

I pray that for those people who got retrenched, and living in “lack” now, to persevere and believes that good will come.

For those who have to work extra hard and take the shits of your work…be thankful that you still have a job and still able to put food on the table.

everyday will be a new day which we should thank god for. situation will changed for the better although through your physical eyes, it may not be that way.

but anyhow…

HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR!

MAY GOD BLESS THE WORK OF YOUR HAND

AND GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE HARDSHIP

{January 27, 2009}   Sawadeekaa

this post was drafted in october…and i totally forgotten about it.

now i decided to post it up, as a reminder on the activities i have undertaken during my trip to bangkok.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Sawadeekaa…

Sabai dee mai? (how are you?)

Phoot Thai mai dai (I can’t speak Thai)

hahahaha… I wish i could speak Thai.. =) there’re so many good looking guys there, but the only barrier would be the language. :S

Just got back from a trip to Pattaya and Bangkok. Its a great trip i should say…there’s SUN, SAND, SEA, SPA, SPICE and SHOPPING! Have everything in one trip. :)

this is my first time there and definately wont be the last…

this is another all girls trip.. (i love all girls trip..we get to do the GAL THING!) =)

and we ATE ALOT! i really meant ALOT! A little diary on our eatery and activities

Day 1

- arrived to bangkok at about 6pm, then we took a cab to Pattaya. we had a hard time communicating with the cab driver, as he don’t know our hotel location. hmph..nvm. we finally reach RS SeaSide at Jomtien Beach at around 9pm

- check into hotel. snaps some pictures

- then head out for dinner in one of the street stall (the food are WONDERFUL!). we each order some special rice, a plate of BBQ squid and Veges to share

- after dinner cum/supper…i can’t remember where we went. i think we walk along the street for a while, then head back to hotel to rest

Day 2

- woke up at 8am, wash up then went for breakfast. then went back into the room to changed to bikini. :)

- we walk along jomtien beach for about 1 hour, then decided to take a tut-tut to pattaya beach instead

- reach pattaya beach. we walk along the street in searching for food. we walked aimlessly, until the sky starts to darken (sign of raining) . then we went into 7-eleven and got ourselves raincoats. (mind you, i havent been wearing one since i was in kindergarten)

- about 15 minutes later, the rain started to pour. we wore our raincoats and continue walking again in searching for food. we finally settle in one of the street stall and ordered Tom Yam and Chicken Rice. eating our lunch with our raincoat, with rain water splashing at us. it was a wonderful experience. :)

- after lunch, with our raincoats on, we walk to a bar, we took off the raincoat and enjoy an afternoon beer.

- when rain began to stop, we continue our aimless walking again. we walk to a mall opposite the bar. once we stepped into the mall, and flip through few addidas merchandise that is on sales…the RAIN STARTED TO POUR AGAIN. so we just window shop around the small complex.

- when things started to get abit boring, we wore back our raincoats, and decided to walk along the streets. the whole pattaya beach area was flooded. but still we had to be adventurous was walk on the rain water. we bought mangoes while walking…we ate a total of 3 mangoes

- we stopped at one massage parlour and had our first massage in Pattaya. We took the 1 hour Thai Massage that cost us only 200 bhat

- after the massage, as we stepped out of the parlour. there’s a kind lady selling Squid. we bought some squid to snack. along our aimless walking, we bought ayam pangang, fried chicken to snack

- at about 5pm, we stopped at the street stalls to have our Pre-dinner. we had Pad Thai, Tom Yam Seafood Soup, and another noodle which we don’t know what its called. but is super spicy and nice.

- after dinner, we had a slow walk and took a tut-tut back to jomtien. we dropped off before reaching our hotel, because we saw some yummy seafood stalls along the way.

- we had our pre-pre dinner. we ordered 2 whole crabs, and Fresh Big Prawns..and of course Singha Beer to Share. my friend also ordered, banana pancake..and we finished the meal with swee mangoes as dessert.

- after the meal, we took another tut-tut back to our hotel. where we finally took of our clothes (with the bikini on) and when for a swim. and took some underwater pictures. :)

- after the swim…we went back to the hotel for shower, and then HEAD to supper in our favourite place..the place where we had our first dinner.

- now we ordered Tom yam (and is the best i’ve ever tasted!!), fried frogs, fried Rice and Veges (this is the BEST thai food i’ve ever tasted, and my friends agrees with me too). and then we called it a night.

Day 3

- woke up at 8.30am, change into our bikini again and when for breakfast.

- but this time, we relax ourselves and spend the whole morning at the SEA. we rented the beach chairs, and ordered some coconut water.

- then we have people coming to us, bringing us yummy food. we bought, fried baby crabs, spring rolls, fried prawn, squids and also some fruits. and we had our morning nap…and read some lines in the book that i brought along.

- had a dip and swam at the sea, then back to napping again.

- at about 11.30am, we when back to the hotel, wash up and started to packed for check-out. we check out around 1pm..and the cab will only be available at 3pm.

- so, we went out for lunch, to pass the time. we had lunch in Yorkies

- after lunch, we sat at the lobby, took some pics and read some books while the rain started to pour again.

- the driver came at 4pm, and it was raining heavily.

- reached bangkok at 6pm…and at 6.30pm we arrived to our hotel (Take A Nap). we stayed in the greenery room and is fantastic! and finally i’m able to connect to the WWW!

- after washing up, we went to walk around patpong area. after some walk, we settle in a Bar Restaurant. and ordered Green Curry Chicken and Tom Yam with rice (by far, is the WORSE food we have ever eaten in Thailand) and from then on..we litterally lost our appetite.

- we bought some bangles from this old grannies, and took pictures with her.

- after our dinner, we shop around patpong. and amazed by the bargains between the locals and the foreigners.

- after some walk, we went for foot, shoulder and head massage that cost us 200 bhat

- after the massage, we head back to our hotel and rest.

Day 4

- woke up at 8am for breakfast

- took MRT from Sala Deang to Mo Chit. then it started to rain again, and i was wearing long white draw-string pants. (HMPH)

- we only have one raincoat with us (thanks to karen) and both me and karen have to share the raincoat to cover ourselves from the rain. CE, only had a hat on.

- when to chatuchak market. its really bargain there. alot of beautiful decoratives stuff, and also cute puppies for sales.

- we walk for along time, but only managed to cover a portion of the whole market. (i got a lamp (160 bhat) candle holder (125 bhat) – i got the same one in patpong market for 300bhat!!) and a tiffany ring for 250 bhat – which patpong sells at 450 bhat

- we had street food again in chatuchak..and hot and spicy noodle that i ordered is really hot and spicy and very yummy. :)

- after chatuchak, we took the MRT again to rhamdevi, and we walked quite a distance to platinum mall. (my GOd..is really a good bargain there)

- i got myself a green dress (400 bhat), 2 shorts (200 bhat), Blue Dress (150 bhat), and a Pyjamas (150 bhat)

- after platinum mall, we took an adventurous ride with tut-tut back to the hotel. where we need to get ready to go to baiyoke for dinner.

- we wash up and get dressed. took a cab to baiyoke sky. paid for 720 bhat for dinner and entrance to the observation deck (which, it is a must see and do things if you are visiting bangkok for the first time)

- we had the most wonderful, and most attention given time there. :) , great food and great entertainment.

- we went to the observation deck, and enjoy the scenary of Bangkok City.

- at about 10.30pm, we took a cab back to the hotel, where we changed, then walk back to patpong street and check-in ourselves into the massage parlour and had a 2 hours of thai massage.

- the massage ends at about 1.30am, and we call it a night back at the hotel.

once we reached the hotel, we are so tired..and i slept off straight after i washed up. and we missed our morning breakfast the next day. :(

- we went out for breakfast instead. and we paid 80 – 120 bhat for it.

after breakfast, we went back to the hotel to take the final photos shot of us in the room.

we took a cab at 1.30pm to the airport. where we shop again in the duty free..and fly back home to Malaysia.

that’s practically, almost to very detail of my activites in bangkok. did i bored you?

{September 24, 2008}   Room Make-Over Project

I’ve finally found a bedroom set that i like and HAVE PURCHASED IT! It was such a drama just to buy this set.

Anyways, My room is in desperate need of a makeover! My things are all over the place, unorganized and and and…am SICK of it! I have books, clothes..and all the dings and dongs

I need a desperate change to structure and organized my life, and therefore i will start off with my santuary….the most important “room” in my life.

I started to shop around for bedroom set since 6 months back…I’ve flips through saturdays newspaper for promotions, I’ve call for enquiries..and even made a few trips down to Cavenzi and other furnitures shops in LDP furniture mall and ulu place in Subang U5 but at the end, i couldnt find the design that i like and within my budget.

Cavenzi maybe nice…but i find the quality is not worth the money. really…after including the high priced delivery charges…even worse.

then about 2 week ago, i received a newsletter from hong leong bank. they have promotion on courts mammoth bedroom set for their cardholder. so, i made a trip down to courts mammoth last saturday. after browsing through the display units…i like one particular one.

It’s brown…with sliding door cupboard, and quality is not bad at all. when i knock on the wood, it doesn’t have the “cheapo” feeling?..dunno how to explain. but i like it. thereafter, i asked the sales person regarding the promo they are having with hong leong bank. She checked, then finally return and told me that the Bedroom set that i fancied has RM300 rebate for Hong Leong CC holders. plus…it comes with free gifts

1) astro decoder (now i can have private astro in my room? =))

2) Steam Iron (now i can iron my clothes in my room? =))

3) 3 piece of stainless steel cookery pots (now i can organized a slumber party? =))

4) and i think it also includes RM10k insurance policy? (now my life value increase by another RM10k? =))

Hahaha..silly me..

anyways, on saturday i didn;t have enough credit in my card to purchase the item. (DARN!!) i blew my card! gosh!

so, i told them i will come back again on tuesday..that was yesterday. I paid yesterday and i expect to received the it in 2 weeks time. but guess what?! the courts mammoth delivery guy just called me up, he said he can delivery the furnitures to me today! (Thumbs up for the prompt delivery!!) as much as i wanted to received my “babies”…but i told him to deliver to me on Friday instead.

I’m taking leave on Friday….so i have time to clear my room, to make way for my new “babies” arrival. =)

and this is what i have in mind for my room arrangement….

Tah Dah!! i will post the actual pictures when its done. =))

Happy Happy Happy!

{September 2, 2008}   My Mother’s Life

Yesterday, as I lay on my bed…I suddenly thought of my parents. They are both in Australia right now. Not retiring, or sipping coffee by the side walk cafe, but working very very hard to ensure their children are supported financially.

I’ve been there and helped out at the restaurant before. Boy..it was really draining and tiring. (i think i’ve mentioned in my previous posts). They worked very hard day and night, 7 days a week and only have a half day off on mondays.

I really loved and appreciate my parents. Their love and sacrifices is unconditionnal.

But today, I’m gonna talk more about my mother. she is really an amazing woman. as you know, everyone has a different journey of life…

I have started working full-time for the past 3 years, and some part time work for the past 5 years. I worked just to earn some little pocket money for my own expenses, and now for my own living.

But mom has been working since she was…10 years of age? yeah….

you see, my mom was born and raised in a village to a poor but a happy family. she was the second eldest among the girls…(there are 3 of them). In a typical chinese family, daughthers are considered as “temporary” family. meaning, end of the days, the daugthers will belong to someone elses family when they are married off.

so of course, priority of education or any “luxury” will be given to their sons. (and there were 9 of them in my mom’s family)

My mother started helping out my grandparents in the farms. (digging cow dangs and all), and she helped in taking care of the younger siblings, and cooked for the family. (she;s really a good cook! =))

When she was 16-17 years of age, she together with her cousin and a neighbour venture out from the village to the “city” named Klang. and together they worked for (that time) pretiged Tan Family who operated a Seafood and Steamboat restaurant.

The restaurant was really really famous at that era. Even prominant Taiwanese actors and actresses at that time came and dine with us. (I have a photograph to proof it. hehheeh)

My mom works really hard there. (to think of it, my grandma was really a tyrant back then, she really know how to make used of her workers! but she’s totally changed after she became a Christian. She’s became the funniest old woman in my life. She is in Heaven now. missing her everyday. :) ) to cut the long story short, the 3 girls from the village who came together…married to the sons of the Tan Family. (there are 9 sons altogher…but the lucky 3 are son no. 5 (my dad), son no. 6 and son no.7)

yeah…the 5,6 and 7 (HAHAHA)

after marrying…my mom stayed with the in-laws…but things didn’t get better, but worsed! as part of the family member, mom don’t get any wages or paid. other than her work at the restaurant, she must also do her responsibility as a good daughther-in-law, namely cook and wash the WHOLE family.

She married at the age of 20 and of course, being a young couple…things are not that rosy down the road. My dad was away from us for a couple of years when we were young…with my mother helping at the restaurant and work in the household, she took up a second (or third) job as a cleaner for the 2 pubs nearby. I still remember that both me and my sister will help my mother carry the pail, and instead of helping we had fun splashing water at each other!

When I was 16, it was the economic crisis year. and my dad suddenly told us on a tuesday morning that he is leaving to australia. we were used to him being away to oversea trips…but that morning, the feel was different. I was dressed up in school uniform, ready to go to school. but i asked for permission to missed school that day, and it was granted without asking why. I remembered we had Bah Ku Teh that morning, then in a couple of hours we waved good-bye to my dad without knowing when we will see him again.

My mom was left alone in Malaysia, fending for her 4 children.

To cut the long story short…..after 11 years of being apart. Now finally my parents are able to be together again. Their migration process to Australia has been approved, now they are the proad Australian PR holder.

I really cannot imagine, the emotions and trauma that my mother has to go through. Where she gets the determination and strength from??

She’s really an amazing woman.

As a grown up now myself…at 26. I have lived a very happy live because of the sacrificed made by my mom and dad.

now that she is 46, she is still working together with my dad in Australia.

I have determined to work hard, and earn better money to support my parents. Although, time and time again i told my dad…i can support myself. He said that no matter how old his children is…we are still his children, and always will be under his care.

Thank you Mummy. Thank you Papa.

Please forgive me if i have failed you as a daughter.

I promise to work hard…so both of you will have a better live when you retire.

Love you forever!

{August 31, 2008}   Happy Independant Day!

Happy Merdeka everyone!

Have you ever thought of how or what our country will be if we are still under the ruling of british colonial? I guess, we are all be “English-Educated”. :P

Well, I am not a frequent blogger, and i don;t expect anyone reads it…except for my canna and celina. my two faithful one. but i have a surprised today. someone actually drop an comment about how he enjoyed reading it.

(Thanks for reading my craps..:))

There is one thing i should blogged about or should i say to keep tracked in my blog. (something that is worth to remember about)…my salsa learning journey.

I went for the Merdeka Salsa Party yesterday at Salsa Havana. It was quite a fun night of salsa, bachata and merengue.

For your information, Salsa/ dancing has been a stranger to me. I only watched dancing on movies like Step Up, Dirty Dancing and etc..and has always marvel at how they moved.

3 months ago, i started my first salsa class with my 2 good friends. and am quite proud to say that we actually can dance now. we don;t have to marvel at the movies anymore, but we make it happened! HAHAHA

of course i can’t dance like those in the movie la. i am not the PRO PRO yet…(i hope it will not break bones to get there) :)

But boy…i’ve seen great dancers in salsa havana. My God…you will gawk at their sensual moves, and speedy spinning!

life is getting more exciting as i embarked this lifestyle.

meet more people, friends…lot’s of dancing and party! (It’s a healthy party k..)

But there is one thing lack in salsa scene….GUYS! we desperately need more guys! the ratio of guys and girls is 3:10 or maybe less.

hmmmm….
